Yeehaw!  This chili packs a flavourful punch!


With 4 different kinds of beans, this mix makes a protien packed meal.   With a hint of heat and the perfect blen of southwest spices, you've got a fantastic meal from stove or crock pot.


Just add ground beef, salsa and tomato sauce.


Makes around 12 servings.  Great for freezing.

Western Chili

  • Ingredients:

    • 1.5 lb ground beef – browned
    • 4 cups water
    • 2 cups salsa
    • 1 can (680 ml) tomato sauce

    Instructions: Remove spice packet and set aside. Put beans in a large bowl and cover with 6 -8 cups of cool water. Refrigerate overnight (beans will expand). Discard soaking water, rinse and remove any foreign matter. Place in crock pot and add ground beef, contents of spice packet and water. Stir.

    Simmer 8-10 hours on low. 2 hours prior to serving add salsa and tomatoes.
